Civil and Probate Filing Counter
The Civil Filing Counter is located on the ground floor in Room 103. The Civil Filing staff process all incoming civil and probate documents.
Clerk windows open to the public at 8:00 AM
and close at 1:00 PM.
Probate matters involve wills, estates, guardianships and various mental health proceedings.

Criminal and Juvenile Filing Counter
The Criminal and Juvenile Filing Counter is located on the ground floor in Room 127.
The Criminal Division handles any public offense or act by an adult who violates the law. Offenses against criminal codes of law are distinguished by seriousness and punishment into three general categories: felony, misdemeanor and infractions. The filing counter provides customer service regarding criminal matters, including pulling case files for viewing.

Collection and Compliance Unit
The Collection and Compliance Unit is responsible for processing and collecting court-ordered fines and/or fees. You can mail in check or money order payments, telephone in credit card payments, or drop off your check, money order, or cash payment at any court location. Probate Examiners - Guardianship
If you need help with a case involving guardianship of a child, there are probate examiners available to help you Monday through Friday, from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM. They are located in the Wakefield Taylor Courthouse in Room 210, and can be contacted by telephone by calling: (925) 646-4099.
