Court Houses open to the public at 8:00 AM and close at 5:00 PM. Monday through Friday except on court holidays. (Security will not allow early or late entry. )

Building Exterior

It is the courthouse for the former Delta Judicial District – the East County -- and serves the communities of Antioch, Bay Point, Bethel Island, Brentwood, Byron, Discovery Bay, Knightsen, Oakley and Pittsburg.

Entrance/Security

There is only one entrance to the courthouse, and this is accessible for people with disabilities. To ensure everyone's safety, anyone entering the building must go through a security check.


Filing Window

Inside the court facility, court clerks accept filings of small claims, civil-unlawful detainers, criminal and traffic cases, sell court forms, and accept payment of filing fees.

Family Law cases when the Petitioner lives in East County can now file in Pittsburg.

Domestic Violence victims in the East County area can file in Pittsburg, as well as seek assistance from Bay Legal attorneys on Tuesday mornings.

 

   

Courtroom

There are seven courtrooms in Pittsburg. Cases heard here include family law, small claims, civil-unlawful detainers, criminal and traffic proceedings. Some domestic violence and juvenile  matters may also be heard.



Jury Assembly Room

The Jury Assembly Room in Pittsburg has snack and beverage vending machines, filtered hot and cold water, a lactation room and a small business center with a coin copier.  While jurors are waiting to be selected they are afforded a scenic view of Mt. Diablo.

Law Library

The Law Library is open from 8:00 AM to 12:00 and from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday to the public, and to members of the bar and the judiciary.  It offers free access and use of legal resources, including computer terminals with high-speed Internet access. Coin-operated photocopiers are available.


 

Workshop Room

Part of the self-help center in Pittsburg, lawyers give free workshops to help people with cases of domestic violence, guardianship, and housing law.
